About Auli Cable Car Ropeway

Auli Ropeway first work was started in 1994 when it was in Uttarpradesh State. Auli Ropeway is the major attraction in Joshimath and Auli offering panoramic snowcapped Himalayan views, Joshimath town view and many tiny village view. Second highest and longest ropeway in Asia, Auli cable car covers a distance of 3.5 kms.  Auli cable car also called locally as Gondola and connects Auli with Joshimath. Located at 3016.3 mtrs above sea level, Auli is one of the best skiing and summer destination in India receiving large number of tourist every year.

Auli Cable Car can be board from Joshimath or Auli. Joshimath and Auli is well connected by road, only in winter roads are cover with snow incase heavy snowfall at auli. Nearest rail connectivity is at Dehradun (294 kms) or Rishikesh railway station (256 kms). Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (272 kms) is the only airport to reach near Joshimath.

About Auli Chair Lift

Auli Chair Lift is located opposite to Hanuman temple or just 200meter distance from GMVN auli parking. Unlike the Auli Ropeway, there is no fixed schedule for the Chair Lift and it keeps running every minute during the operational hours. Usually in winter skiers and tourist used this for boarding.

Auli Chair Lift takes you to the skiing slopes of Auli near the Auli Lake. A remote braking and storm warning system is also fitted in the chair lift.
